Order Angus Beef
Our tender, grain-fed beef is offered to you by the split-quarter, half or whole animal. A split-quarter is a combination of both the front and rear quarters. A typical quarter weights approximately 200 lbs, including bones. As graded by the USDA, our beef consistently scores "High Choice" and "Prime". Prime beef is the top rating, and two steps above the "Choice" beef available in most supermarkets. We also have the beef processed and then aged 10 to 14 days, a primary difference between us and beef sold in stores, which is typically aged only one day.
We sell you the live animal, and require a down payment using 1300 lbs, plus the cost of processing the animal in a state-certified facility, paid to Double-Bar-O Angus. The balance will be invoiced to you after the animal is weighed. The cost of aging, cutting and wrapping the meat will be paid by you direct to the butcher at the time of pickup. You can choose your butcher, or use ours.
A split quarter includes approximately:
- 12 to 15 steaks (T-bone, sirloin, etc)
- 4 to 5 roasts (Prime-rib, chuck, sirloin)
- 10 lbs of ground sirloin
- 12 lbs of stew meat
- 2 packages of beef shanks
- 2 packages of short ribs
- 4 packages of bones for soup
The finished cost of your natural grain-fed beef is approximately $2.50 to $2.60 per pound, for hamburger to T-bone steaks - considerably below the grocery store price, yet with restaurant quality!
Price comparisons show that our locally grown, natural grain-fed beef is less expensive than the same cuts from high-end markets. Why? Because there is no middleman, and you buy directly from the rancher.
